Multi-site Church selects aQ Video Server for repurposing and distribution of Worship Services
Glad Tidings Assembly of God in West Lawn, PA (USA) has chosen a two-channel aQ Video Server (AVS) to help them repurpose worship services across their multiple worship times and locations. Working in conjunction with Zixi (for distance delivery of full-bandwidth video) and Haivision (for real-time encoding and decoding of video), Glad Tidings uses the video server to ingest a worship service from their West Lawn main campus for delayed playback at their new Kutztown location, recording their 9am service in West Lawn for playback in Kutztown at 10am. The playback at the satellite location begins before the recording at the main campus has completed, which was one of several key pieces of functionality required for the project which the aQ Video Server was able to provide.
The whole production rig, provided by AVI Systems and assembled by Glad Tiding’s own staff, has been racked into a portable console created by Portable Church Inc. that can be wheeled out at will, complete with monitoring and control surfaces. Bill Sheeler, Technical Operations Manager for the church, says that the aQ Video Server’s considerable flexibility makes it a unique and appealing playback product: “The fact that the server handles SD and HD clips equally well, in addition to such a long list of file formats and codecs, means that the aQ Video Server can easily grow with our requirements. The aQ server makes the integration of other elements into this rack much easier”.
