Graduate Technical Support Engineer

We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to provide expert assistance to customers using our software and hardware products – in particular relating to our range of video server hardware and newsroom software (NRCS). Ideally we are looking for a Broadcast Engineering or Media Technology graduate and the ideal candidate will have the ability to see projects from a detailed engineering perspective whilst being able to maintain the user’s viewpoint. A technical understanding of broadcast equipment will be required, including familiarity with video signals, formats and codecs, along with an awareness of a typical broadcast gallery operation. They must also have good knowledge of PC and network technology and be competent with standard office applications, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and broadcast specific applications, such as editing software.

 

Graduate Software Developer / Technical Support Engineer

We are looking for a Developer / Support Engineer. The role will be involved primarily with the development of our software and firmware products, but with a secondary function to provide, alongside our existing team, expert assistance to customers using our products. Ideally we are looking for a recent development graduate and the ideal candidate will have the ability to see projects from a detailed technical perspective whilst being able to maintain the viewpoint of the end-user.

From a primary development perspective, the candidate must have experience of C and C++ development under Linux and/or Windows and of parallel processing / multi-threaded programming. In addition, it would be beneficial to have some knowledge in areas such as:

Resilient coding | Redundant systems | Real time systems | Linux kernel development
HTML/CSS/JS/React.js | Video/Audio processing | Industrial Control Systems
Inter-process communications and client/server system design | MFC and MSDEV
Mac OS X programming in C/C++ and/or Objective-C

From a secondary support perspective, the candidate will need a good understanding of Ethernet and IP networks, the basics of client/server systems, Windows systems, Linux systems (including familiarity with the command line), storage technologies (e.g. RAID), PC workstation/server hardware and standard office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
